On Tuesday 21 September 2021 at 11.00 hrs., at the Reception Room of President of the Senate, 10th floor, the Parliament Building, Prof. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, President of the Senate, welcomed Dr. Sok Sokrethya, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cambodia and the personal advisor to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on the courtesy call during their visit to Thailand. Mr. Sungsidh Piriyarangsan, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Poverty and Inequality Reduction, and Mr. Nut Phasuk, Secretary-General of the Senate, also joined in welcoming the delegates.


During the conversation, President of the Senate and Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cambodia agreed that Thailand and Cambodia have strong relations and are good neighbouring countries. Both countries have cooperation in many areas such as economics, trades, border development, investment, tourism, transportation connections, security, education, and labour. There are frequent exchanges of visits in every level. Regarding the legislative relations, both countries have established the Parliamentarians Friendship Groups in order to exchange information, carry out activities and strengthen cordial relations. Both sides also believed that once the COVID-19 outbreak situation becomes better, there will be frequent visits like in the past. On this occasion, President of the Senate expressed best wishes to Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cambodia for being well facilitated during his stay in Thailand and achieving the purposes of the visit to Thailand.
