On Friday 26 March 2021, at 11.00 hours, Reception Room, 3rd Floor, Parliament Building (House of Representative Wing), Professor Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, President of the Senate, together with Mrs. Pikulkeaw Krairiksh, Chairwoman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, and General Wasant Suriyamongkol, Vice-President of the Thailand-Finland Parliamentarians’ Friendship Group, and Mr. Nut Phasuk, Secretary-General of the Senate, welcomed H.E. Mr. Jyri Jarviaho, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Thailand, who paid a courtesy call on the occasion of his assumption of duty in Thailand.
On this occasion where both parties were able to exchange ideas, both parties agreed to strengthen and develop the relationship and cooperation through different measures, such as developing the education system in the public sector and promoting different trade and investment in the private sector. Regarding legislative cooperation, both parties agreed that exchanging visits in the levels of heads of the Parliament, committee members and members of the Parliamentarians’ Friendship Group from both countries would be a mechanism to further strengthen both countries’ relationship and cooperation.
Subsequently at 12.00 hours, the President of the Senate hosted a luncheon in honour of the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Thailand at the Siam Hotel. In this regard, Mr. Bancha Phongaryukul, Senator, also attended the luncheon.
