Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Thailand
Paid a courtesy call on the President of the Senate 
(29 October 2019)  

On 29 October 2019, 10.00 hours, at Reception Room 25^th floor, Sookprapreut Building, Prof. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, President of the Senate together with Mr. Supachai Somcharoen Second Vice-President of the Senate, Mrs. Pikulkeaw Krairiksh, Chairwoman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Panit Nitithanprapas Vice President of the Thailand-Singapore Parliamentarians Friendship Group and Mr. Nut Phasuk, Secretary-General of the Senate, welcomed H.E. Mr. Kevin Cheok Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Thailand, on the occasion of his assumption to the office.

The President of the Senate and the Ambassador of Singapore to Thailand praised the expanded relations between Singapore and Thailand in many aspects such as economy, trade, investment, education and technology. Both sides also exchanged ideas on the roles of members of the parliaments and the issues relating to the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations between both countries. Furthermore, the President of the Senate mentioned the participation in the 39^thASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Meeting in 2018 in Singapore in which the President of the Senate had a chance to meet many key persons of Singapore. Hence, the Ambassador showed appreciation to the President of the Senate for welcoming H.E. Mr. Tan Chuan-Jin, Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore, during the 40^th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Meeting hosted by Thailand in August 2019. The Ambassador also expressed that he will continue to support the relations of both countries through Thailand-Singapore Parliamentarians Friendship Group.
