Paid a Courtesy Call on the President of the National Legislative Assembly (Feb 11, 2019)
On Monday, 11 February 2019, 14.00 hrs. at Reception Room, Parliament Building 2, the President of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) welcomed H.E. Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdulrahman Bin Mohammed Alabdulrahman Al-Thani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Thailand, on the occasion of paying a courtesy call for presenting an invitation letter from H.E. Ahmad Zaid Al Mahmoud, Speaker of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar to the NLA President for leading the delegation of Thai Parliament to attend the 140th Assembly of the Inter – Parliamentary Union and Related Meetings at Doha, the State of Qatar during 6-10 April 2019.
On this occasion, the NLA President mentioned good relations between Thailand and the State of Qatar running smoothly for 39 years. Relations of both countries are good at all levels since the establishment of diplomatic relations between each other. In addition, both countries have the frequent exchange of visits between the royal families, governmental relations and people-to-people connection. For parliamentary relations, both countries are members of Inter – Parliamentary Union (IPU) which is an important forum in the exchange of experience among parliamentarians all over the world. Thai Parliament often sends the delegation to attend the IPU Assembly. The NLA President was pleased to send the delegation from Thai Parliament to participate in this IPU Assembly at Doha. Furthermore, Thai and Qatar are also members of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD). In this year, Qatar is also the Chair of Asia Cooperation Dialogue.
In this regard, both countries agreed to promote and strengthen relations in all dimensions for mutual benefits of both countries.
